Looking for a Toilet that Performs Well and Costs Less than $100?
Consumers have a new way to see how well different water-efficient toilets measure up. With help from Seattle Public Utilities (SPU), the National Association of Home Builders Research center (NAHBRC) conducted a study and published a report that compares the performance of 49 of the most popular and widely available toilet models in the U.S. A summary of the testing results is now available at www.savingwater.org. For a list of those toilets that were rated in the top half of models tested, and that cost less than $100, visit www.savingwater.org.

Each toilet tested had a slightly different feature and no one toilet is best for everyone. The test results should be considered as a relative guide to flushing performance and results may vary. The study was sponsored by the NAHBRC, SPU and the Saving Water Partnership, a group of 26 Seattle area water utilities, along with East Bay Municipal Utility District, Which supplies water and provides wastewater treatment on the eastern side of San Francisco Bay.
